WorshipThe purpose of the Worship Ministry at River of Grace is to see the nations worship Jesus by listening to His voice, speaking His Word & living a lifestyle of worship. We strive to make every ministry an act of worship. All of our lives should be worship. Romans 12:1 says to present our bodies as a living sacrifice. That means we don’t live for ourselves. Rather, we make it our goal to please the Lord. The music in our worship service is a blend of traditional and contemporary. We don't want forsake the hymns because of their depth and richness. We include the contemporary because of its passion and intimacy. We have opportunities for both children and adults to sing, play an instrument or share a reading, a testimony or other acts of worship that can enhance our worship service. For more information about the worship ministry, contact Pastor Jason.
Bible ChallengeWe are challenging everyone to be more active in Bible memory, which is a Scriptural principle. "I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you." Psalm 119:11 (NIV). Having the Word in your heart helps you navigate life. Our first challenge is to memorize the books of the Bible in order so that you know where to find verses. Our next challenge is to memorize some key verses from the Bible. We are using the book "100 Bible Verses Everyone Should Know" as a guide. The verses are grouped according to topic. The first topic is "Beginnings: The Bible's Fantastic Four" Genesis 1:1 John 1:1 John 1:14 John 3:16
ChildrenWe take to heart what Scripture says in Psalm 127: 3 that children are a gift from the Lord. We want to help parents in their responsibility in teaching their children. We offer a nursery during the worship service. Children's church is also available for preschool to 5th grade. The children will be engaged with active learning through Bible stories, games, music and more. Each child receives a CD of the music learned in class so the lessons can be reinforced at home. The theme verse for the quarter is Philippians 4:13 - "I can do everything through Him who gives me strength."

MissionsMissions is part of the DNA of our church. Our church began in the fall of 2002 with a home Bible study in the home of Richard & Carmen Payne. In March of 2003 a core group of believers gathered for a worship service and as they say, the rest is history. Our church was organized as a self-supporting local congregation in October of 2007 and is affiliated with the Baptist Missionary Association of America (BMAA). Our church supports missions through the BMAA. Our current missions support goes to Pier 59 Project in Baldwin County, Alabama (Richard Payne), Northlake Church of Smithville, MO (Jamie Jones), church planting in Peru (John MIchael Poulin) and mission work in France (Mike Cross). Other non-BMAA projects we support include Operation Christmas Child from Samaritan’s Purse and the New Creation Children’s Home in Nepal. We also have a number of members who have gone on short-term mission trips. River of Grace encourages its members to be active participants in the Great Commission both home and abroad. |
