WHAT WE BELIEVE

We believe the five “solas” of the sixteenth-century Protestant Reformation:

Salvation is by grace alone (sola gratia), through faith alone (sola fide), in Christ alone (solus Christus), for God’s glory alone (soli Deo gloria).  And, Scripture alone is the inerrant rule for faith and practice (sola Scriptura).

We believe those doctrines found in the Statement of Faith of the National Association of Evangelicals:

We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God.

We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory.

We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful people, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential.

We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life.

We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of life and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.

We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.

OUR HISTORY

River of Grace began as a Bible study in the home of Richard and Carmen Payne in September 2002.  In March of 2003, this small group of believers rented a room in Pueblo West Plaza.

In the fall of 2007, the mission became an organized church.  Paul Medved and his family joined the church in 2004, and Paul assumed the role of Senior Pastor in June 2009.  In October 2012, River of Grace Church moved to its current location at 84 S. Masters Dr.  The following year, the church was able to add classroom and office space with the acquisition of 88 S. Masters Dr.  The rest is history.
